Responsible waste handling

Duty of care starts before collection.

Waste clearance is not only loading a van. The waste needs a clear description, a lawful route and the right records where required.

How we handle waste responsibly

These controls help protect customers, landlords, trades, receiving facilities and the wider local area from poor disposal practice.

Know the waste

We ask what the waste is, where it came from and whether anything restricted or specialist is present.

Check before loading

The visible waste is checked against the booking so unexpected items can be reviewed before collection.

Use authorised routes

Waste is taken through responsible receiving routes, with disposal evidence or transfer notes where required.

Reject unsafe waste

Waste that is unknown, hazardous, asbestos-suspect, leaking, misdescribed or without a lawful route must not be collected.
